The Ciénaga de Zapata National Park. It constitutes a very important place within the Matanzas province, due to the great variety of species of Birds, Reptiles, Fish and vegetation that coexist in the same place.



The Cienaga de Zapata, considered a Biosphere Reserve and officially declared a RAMSAR Site, is undoubtedly one of the places on the Island with the greatest biodiversity, beauty and indisputable historical and natural values.

Located on the southern coast of the western Matanzas province, some 180 kilometers southeast of the city of Havana, it also becomes the largest and most important wetland in the insular Caribbean and a natural reservoir of fragile ecosystems.
