Primary education
The purpose of this education is to contribute to the integral formation of the scholar's personality, promoting from the first grades the internalization of knowledge and value orientations that are gradually reflected in their feelings, ways of thinking and behavior, in accordance with the system of values and ideals of the socialist revolution
Primary education has 9 educational institutions of which are 4 Urban and 5 Rural. Our municipality belongs to the Turquino Plan.
Enrollment in our education is 786 students from preschool through 6th grade.
The primary school model allows all students to receive their classes in accordance with the current study plan, with flexible hours and with developmental classes that are carried out taking into account the different cognitive levels according to diagnosis.
Teachers with a high scientific level keep updating by improving themselves through different channels and have 12 hours of methodological preparation to raise the quality of the classes, in addition to the priority they give to preparing subjects daily.
There are specialists who collaborate teachingly with their knowledge of computer science, English, art, librarians, psycho-pedagogues, speech therapists and physical education, with the use of audiovisual media, technicians, modules of Natural Sciences, Labor Education, didactic games, laminars.
In the territories there are training courses for educational assistants to work with students during the hours of active rest and to carry out complementary activities at different times.
100% of educational institutions work for vocational training and career guidance taking into account what is established in the development of the movement of monitors and circles of interest, in order of priority that of Pedagogy from 1st to 6th grade. There are also in the municipalities other circles of interest and educational, socio-productive projects based on the needs of each territory such as: Sport, Firefighters, Environment, Agronomy, Food preparation, Manual work, Road education, Physical Education, Medicinal plants , Computing, Civil Defense, Military Patriot, Librarianship, Nursing, among others.
Festivals, gymnastic tables, class contests, subject competitions, as well as events, are held both in the urban and rural sectors, all with the aim of potentially integrating students.
Education is immersed in the III Improvement of the Educational System, educational institutions have shown that the intervention of students, workers, family, community with its different agents and agencies, with a leading role among all, that the mission and comprehensiveness The student rises every day in function of a better world, with everyone and for everyone, laying the foundations from this primary level.
